Data Protection at ROBEL Bahnbaumaschinen GmbH (**)

Our aim at ROBEL is to provide for customers and other visitors to the ROBEL website an on-line environment which is easy to use and at the same time always respects visitors' rights and security. Careful handling of personal details and their collection, processing and use is safeguarded by the strict guidelines of the German Broadcast Media Act (TMG) and the German Data Protection Act (BDSG). In view of the rapid development in information technology and media, we want to meet the growing personal and corporate need for security with awareness and appropriate security measures. Protecting the personal rights of customers, business partners and employees is our foremost aim. This data privacy policy describes how ROBEL ensures the confidentiality of your personal details and exercises your right to informational privacy.

Security and confidentiality of your details

Our company makes provisions for guaranteeing the security of your personal details. Your data is diligently protected against loss, destruction, corruption, manipulation and against unauthorised access, disclosure and dissemination. The technologies used for this are state-of-the-art and are regularly maintained. All our employees, who in the course of their work are using personal details, are bound to confidentiality and are obliged to handle data processing systems correctly in accordance with the German Data Protection Act (BDSG). Our IT Department and our in-house data protection officer ensure that our data protection principles are adhered to strictly throughout the company.

Use of your personal details

All personal details collected by us on the ROBEL website (e.g. name, address or e-mail address) are processed for the sole purpose of supporting you individually, transmitting product information or submitting service offers. ROBEL assures that your details are treated as confidential according to the prevailing data protection regulations. You decide whether or not you want to give us this data when registering or making an enquiry. These details are relevant to your enquiry, but are given to us by you on a voluntary basis.
Your enquiry is sent via the ROBEL website on the contact form to the relevant ROBEL country representation for further processing and a copy forwarded to the ROBEL head office in Germany. We assure that your personal details are not passed on to third parties, unless we are legally obliged to do so.

However, we will neither sell nor otherwise market your personal details to third parties! We do not sell any user names or e-mail addresses to other companies that send you unsolicited advertising material or mail.

The German Broadcasting Act (TMG) as well as the German Data Protection Act apply throughout our company for all personal details provided to us.

We use e-mail for services associated with information about our products. In theses cases, we retain the e-mail address in our documentation.

We store and process your data solely as part of the obligations we have to fulfil. Should we wish to use your details for purposes above and beyond this, for example, to inform you about current offers or exhibition dates, we will only do so if we have obtained express permission from you. You can withdraw from this consent and further use of your data informally at any time.

Your rights

If requested ROBEL will inform you in writing as to whether and what personal details we store about you. Despite our efforts to keep data accurate and up to date, if the wrong information is stored, we shall amend it at your request. Your consent is a pre-condition for the use of your data. If you later find that you no longer agree with this, please let us know informally so that we can arrange to have your data deleted or blocked.

If you do withdraw consent, we shall discontinue the additionally authorised use of your data immediately. We would ask for your understanding, if processing your withdrawal of consent occasionally takes several working days.

Use of automatically collected, non-personal data

Everyone is welcome to visit and use our web pages free of charge and to view the products offered there. When you visit our website, we log your IP address in abbreviated form (i.e. the Internet address of your computer, not your e-mail address) and other general data, for analysing session lengths on individual pages and which parts of our website are visited. This statistical data is combined with the usage data of all visitors to the site and only used for internal purposes. It is not possible to trace the person doing this individually. We use this statistical data to evaluate our products and offers and to improve the use, further optimise and develop our web performance.

This website uses Google Analytics, one of Google Inc.'s web analysis services ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies", text files that are stored on your computer and that make it possible to analyse your use of the website. The information produced by the cookie on your use of this website (including your abbreviated IP address) is transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google will also pass on this information to third parties as appropriate, if stipulated by law or if third parties process this data on Google's instructions. Cookies neither disclose nor contain any personal details whatsoever. Cookies are not able to read out any information from your computer or work with other cookies on your hard disk. Cookies, however, enable us to make sure your visit to our website goes smoothly and that we recognise you on any subsequent visit.

The Google Analytics Code on this website has been extended by "gat._anonymizeIp();". This ensures the anonymised capture of IP addresses (so-called IP Masking).

According to information by Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/help/?faq=186325668085084 the following information is sent to Facebook: date and time of your visit to our website, the website (URL), the IP address, the type of web browser and the operating system used.

As soon as you activate the button by clicking on it a connection to the Facebook servers will be established. This tells Facebook that you have visited our website. If you are logged in on Facebook as a member while visiting our website Facebook will assign the information mentioned above to your account.

the development, production and global sale as well as leasing of and trade with machinery, equipment and tools in the railway construction sector using internal and external patents, including the construction of machine parts and the assembly of own-brand machinery and machinery of the Plasser & Theurer Austria corporate group, but also of machinery of general manufacturing systems engineering; customer services, repairs, corrective maintenance, periodic inspections, acceptance tests and quality inspections, as well as training and instruction in the use of this machinery and these machine parts; holding a stock of, and trading in spare parts and products for the requirements of railway construction; as well as all associated services and commercial operations which are conducive to the company's objective. Data is collected, processed and used for the purposes indicated.

customer data (name, address, order details, if appropriate), employee details (name, address) and suppliers' details (name, address), if they are required for the purposes referred to under point 4.

public bodies statutory regulations exist, external contractors in accordance with §11 BDSG (German Data Protection Act) and external bodies, internal departments and dealers of ROBEL Bahnbaumaschinen GmbH for the purposes referred to under point 4.

7. Mandatory period for deleting data:

The legislative authority has issued various obligations to retain data and statutory periods of retention. At the end of these periods, the relevant data is routinely deleted if it is no longer required to fulfil the contract. If data is not affected by this, it is deleted when the purposes referred to under point 4 cease to apply.
